German fossil fuel company RWE is suing the Netherlands for interfering with their profits. RWE are able to do this because of an international treaty called the 'Energy Charter Treaty'. You can read more about the treaty here. Worryingly more countries are joining the Energy Charter Treaty, which is a real threat to maintaining a hospitable planet to live on.
